Chevin Park, near Bradford is a scheme involving the transformation the historic Grade II Listed Victorian High Royds Psychiatric Hospital into luxury housing, combining original Victorian splendour with the elegance of contemporary design.
The transformation of the site has been carried out over numerous visits over the past 6 years by restoring and adapting the many Sandstone buildings whilst retaining many features of the original architecture.
Previous visits have included structural alterations including demolition of large sections of existing elevations, enabling us to restore the remaining structure with stone infills reusing the demolished stone.
Last year Aura returned to complete the next phase of the project, the buildings in this phase have been cleaned, re-pointed and building alterations have included the creation of entrance steps and ramps from new sandstone and the creation of new and alteration of existing windows and doors. Works will continue through 2017.
